Susan Lane Events is a full-service catering and event planning company based in Acton, Massachusetts. We create uniquely tailored events for discriminating clients. Our events are highly customized and reflect the personality and essence of each client.
Founder, Susan Lane, cultivates experiences that integrate exquisite design with craft cocktails, top notch food and service, and award-winning entertainment, photography and floral design vendors. Through each element, Susan masterfully curates each detail, striking the right balance in all of these to create a highly personalized event with incredible energy from start to finish.
We aren't just known for our unique and world inspired menus. We also specialize in barn, farm and outdoor events. Not all caterers are experienced with the obstacles that come up with an off-site venue. If you are looking for an unusual venue (i.e., outdoors, barn, farm, etc.) we can help you secure the venue of your dreams, and make sure your event goes off without a hitch.
We handle everything from generators and tents to lighting, outdoor restrooms, entertainment, photographers and more. Our specialty is COMPLICATED VENUES requiring decades of experience with outdoor events.
Our story began in the early 90’s with our founder Susan Lane turning her love of food into a promising young catering business. She describes herself as an intrepid wanderlust, letting her love of other cultures influence her menus. Her travels have taken her twice to SE Asia for one-month stints taking cooking classes from north to south in Vietnam and Thailand.
Her other remarkable travels include an unforgettable Boston University culinary trip to Tuscany with Jacques Pepin and a self-curated culinary trip to Oaxaca, Mexico in 2022 where she learned how to make every type of mole you can imagine.
Other culinary journeys to Spain, France England, Ireland, Central America and many of the Caribbean islands taught her so much about local cooking methods, spices and authentic regional recipes. She will never grow tired of what the world can teach us about food.
Couple this with her insane attention to detail and you have the makings of a well admired local caterer. 30 years of owning a catering company has given Susan and her employees invaluable lessons in the logistics of off-premise events which can often include complicated set ups.
Her newest passion is working with NECAT Boston, an incredibly vibrant organization that offers a free 14 week culinary program to those facing barriers to employment.
Lauren D’Agostino, our resident plant-based and gluten-free specialist, has worked in hospitality and food service for over ten years. She’s most passionate about plant-forward food, clean-crafted wine, and creating five-star experiences where people can truly connect. Prior to working in the plant-based arena, she attended Le Cordon Bleu, where she trained as a pastry chef before going on to work at Walt Disney World Resort. She loves to design intentional spaces, spend time in nature, and visit with family and friends over a bottle of wine.
She’s currently assisting the team at Susan Lane Events with sales, event planning, content creation, and marketing.
